Good Morning! Happy Monday.

Good Morning! Happy Monday. After some fairly cool weather, it looks like the heat will be back on for the end of the week. The summer has been pretty cool and nice so far, so it only seems fair that we have at least some warm summer weather. It seems like it’s been a month since we have had the muggy weather that summers in Albany is famous – and none has been truly oppressive so far.

Bright and sunny this morning, although at times there is clouds blocking the sun. Already a bit humid. Road construction going ahead full steam on Elm Avenue. They are laying recycled black top, covering the surface they milled last week. Kind of stunk while working down to the Park and Ride lot. I didn’t think the road was particularly rough or needing a new cover of blacktop, but it was probably just preventative maintenance – fix the top layer before it deteriorates into potholes and damages the roadbed.

We might as well have a few more weeks of summer, because at least for me, summer will be back on this week. Today there is a good chance I’m getting Big Red back. At any rate, if not today, it will be early this week. The body shop is 100% certain that I will finally have my truck back this week. Which is good, because that will give me a chance to pick up supplies, fill up the gas tank, and make sure everything is working well before heading back into the wilderness.

Probably go fishing one of these nights after I get Big Red back in the Hudson River and pick up some supplies at Walmart. I don’t need a lot, but it will be good to get out shopping, and not just picking up what I can, rushing into the grocery store between buses in the evening. Then get out camping this weekend if the weather looks half-decent. It will be fun to get back up into the wilderness and plus I have a bunch of burnables to get rid of, not having a chance to take them to the transfer station or burn them up in the woods.

I freshened up the blog appearance a bit on Saturday evening. None of the changes are dramatic, with most of them focusing on improving navigation and suggesting more content of interest to the viewer. Nothing earth shattering, but general appearance related. With new essays, maps, and photos, it should be quite nice as we head into the fall months.
