Action Needed! Essex Chain Lakes – ilsnow.com

"New York State DEC is taking public comments on recreation plans for the Essex Chain Lakes Complex Draft Unit Management Plan until July 18th. It’s summer, but we can’t fall asleep on this one. Read up and get ready to take ACTION!"

Good Morning! Happy Tuesday.

Good Morning! Happy Tuesday. Going to be another hot day outside. The humidity still is only about 70%, but with the temperatures rising, that will mean pretty oppressive conditions by this afternoon. I guess there are some advantages to being stuck at work at a moderately well air conditioned building. My fan should keep things from getting too hot today, especially if I close the shades on the windows.

I doubt I will have my truck back this weekend, but if all goes well, I should have the truck by the long 4th of July weekend. I still would like to get up to Moose River Plains for that weekend, even if I have to take backroads to avoid all the highway construction zones. I totally freak out every time I see a car tailgating on roads around my house – oh my god, they’re going to crash! Okay, maybe I’m not that much of girl, but something sinks in me everytime I see somebody tailgate.

With work I haven’t really had a lot of a chance to spend time in the back-country recently, except for a quick trips out to Central NY and Brookfield. Which half of the time I spent on my phone and sending out e-mails and other crap. I expect to be fairly busy with work over the next few weeks, so if I end up Moose Plains, I will end up driving out to Indian Lake or Inlet nearly every day to check the email and voicemails.

Hopefully the second half of the summer should be fairly sane, and I will be able to get out for a week-long trip somewhere and some long weekends, that is if all goes well. That said, I probably will end up taking most of my summer vacation in November, for a trip to Pennsylvania and some kind of hunting and trapping trip to the Adirondacks in late November after the Southern Zone deer season takes pressure off the Northern Zone.
