The Affordable Care Act Back In The Supreme Court

Listening to this show, really changed my mind on the Hobby Lobby court case. It's important for businesses to take care of their workers and offer them quality health insurance.

However, should businesses be required to pay for contraception that takes the life of a child, when used as birth control after recreational sex? Generally healthcare insurance doesn't pay for "recreational" activities -- like a new pair of hiking boots or a fishing rod.

At any rate, an interesting discussion of an important issue by informed experts on this topic of national importance.

Cold, Grey, Hump Day

Good Morning! Happy Hump Day. A fairly cold and gray day today. At least we are missing the snow. One week from today will be April 2nd, and in five weeks it will be May. Now, that’s something to look forward to. Winter may put up a hell of a fight, but it can’t last forever.

The regular, big car insurance payment for the next six months is due on Friday. That sucks, but it’s life and it’s also a Friday.

The weekend looks quite nice at this point, at least if you listen to the optimistic forecasts. Others talk about rain. Talk about optimism in the sense of the Moose River Plains trip I took last Memorial Day, where it rained and snowed for four days straight.

The bus ride to work hasn’t changed much. It’s still nice to be taking the express bus downtown in the mornings. Albany still is the gritty, wintery brown world that is the norm from mid-October to late-April.

Beyond Freezing

One week from today — Wednesday, April 2nd — the average low temperature in Albany is 32.2 F. The next time we have an average low below freezing is November 15, an average low temperature of 31.8 F.
