It’s been so cold out lately, I’ve been missing my evening walk. It’s usually about 2.5 miles or 45 minutes, listening to my Mp3 player or radio, enjoying the peace and quiet before bed. It’s a time to collect my thoughts, get some fresh air and some exercise.
But lately it’s been much too cold, being below zero in the evenings. Maybe I just got to bundle up and stay warm.
I hate missing my evening walk, but lately with temperatures below zero, I've been passing on it.
I am absolutely thrilled that starting Monday I will be able to take the Route 719 express bus downtown at a reasonable hour for work. It used to be an option for me, but it always so early, that I would get to work like 30-45 minutes earlier then necessary. I had done that occasionally in the past when I needed to get to work early, but otherwise, I am not going to get to work a half hour early when there is no reason get there so early.
While riding the bus is much easier than dealing with city traffic, taking the uncrowded express downtown sure will be nice for a change. Occasionally I may take the local in evening, especially when I have to stay late for work, but especially during the slow time of the year (the summer months), the express bus will be awesome.
Several other lines will be changing expanding their services too …
Somehow we managed to make it to a Friday. It seems like it just was a Monday evening a few minutes ago, but I guess it’s good that this week is flying. It will be summer before you know it, and winter will be just a memory as we swelter through the heat. There is a small chance I will buy an air conditioner this year, but my guess is probably not. My favorite type of air conditioning is going up to the mountains on sweltering summer days, cooled by lots of cold drinks and the Potholers.
Today is another cold day, with snow expected on Saturday. Bright and sunny though. Not a lot of snow, but enough to make the roads crappy, so I refuse to go out and drive anywhere tomorrow. I wouldn’t want to get salt on my beautifully clean truck with the frozen shut doors, after all. But I figure the money I spend staying home, is more money I can spend traveling in the summer.
Summer sure will be nice, driving in my jacked up truck to Piseco-Powley Road for an another awesome weekend. It will be fun to be 8 inches high above the road.
It's nice that it's finally Friday, even though this weekend promises to continue the bitterly cold weather.
