I am recovering from yesterday’s day at the track. I didn’t loose much money, mainly because I didn’t bet, but I sure did get sick from something I ate or drank last night. Between the heat, after getting home, probably the good drinks I drank, plus the food, I got so sick last night around 9 PM. But this morning, I feel like I’m 80% back and feeling okay.

Got a new bus shelter at my bus stop. It will come in handy on rainy and snowy days. No more hopping in the truck, and driving down to the Park and Ride lot where they have a shelter. They did a nice job of setting it back a little ways from the road, and providing a sidewalk, along with incorporating the landscaping into the shelter. Now if it’s regularly, and properly shoveled out, it will be great all winter long.

One deficiency I noticed: the sidewalk to the bus shelter, doesn’t actually connect up to the road. It’s just dirt between the asphalt of the road and the shelter. This isn’t very good for the disabled in wheelchairs, not that I’ve ever seen anyone in a wheelchair get on here. It also will prove problematic in the rain and mud in dress shoes, not to mention for snow removal. Maybe they are waiting for the town to relocate the water line control valve and have the town do the paving there.

Chewing Over the Weekend Plans. The weather this weekend looks pretty nice. I may go to the Southern Adirondacks or maybe Schoharie County. I am leaning towards the latter, with the plan being to check out the Minekill State Park and the swimming pool with my Empire Pass. The pool is like $2, but I figure I should check it out, especially with the hot weather predicted for the weekend.

Then the plan is for the following weekend to go up to Moose River Plains for Labor Day Weekend. That isn’t a  hundred percent either, but if the long weekend weather is nice, I would like to get back up there. I haven’t been up there since the very cold rain of Memorial Day Weekend.
